Join us for our monthly Kirtan Sing Along in the park ‘Mata dos Sete Montes’ right in Tomar!
Singing is one of the most wonderful ways to connect effortlessly with your heart and your thirst for life. Something very magical happens when we unite in a circle and chant in the ancient Sanskrit language - come and experience it for yourself!
Upon arrival we will chant three OMs to get your mind settled and release any anxiety you may have around using your voice. We then move on to singing chants call and response style - each of them for a few minutes. The harmonium will be our main instrument that will help you find your rhythm and tone and since it is quite dominant it will really help you liberate your voice! And to make it as easy as possible you will get your personal chant ‘cheat’ sheet with a listing of all the chants we’ll sing.
After each chant we will stay in silent for a few wonderful, soul-filling moments allowing the sound to permeate every single cell of your body. If you have instruments like a drum, rattles or similar you are more than welcome to bring them along and enrichen the experience.
Every person has a unique experience but it is highly addictive to enter into a state of oneness with yourself, the world around you and the universe of sound :)
