Sacred plant medicine

The ceremony

The ceremony’s aim is to give you a time out in this busy, fast moving time where you constantly have to keep many balls up in the air – juggling your work and private life. This is YOUR time and space to connect to your heart and wisdom within in order to move forward more confidently.

Leave all the stress, anxiety and pressure of our modern life behind and be your guest at this luscious date with yourself – you deserve it!

The cacao

I use 100% ceremonial grade cacao – raw, organic & non-GMO.

It comes from the Asháninka tribes who live in the rain forests of central Peru. This ancient variety of criollo beans grow naturally on these lands and the Asháninka take pride in growing, nurturing and harvesting it.

From tree to cup, ceremonial cacao is cultivated with intention, and in alignment with the Cacao Spirit. This means the lands, the farmers, the process, and the finished cacao are treated with compassion, love, respect, and reverence.

History Of Cacao
Kakaw, cacahuatl or cacao are names that the indigenous tribes in Central America called what we know as chocolate today. The scientific name of the cocoa tree is Theobroma cacao from the greek words Theo (God) and broma (drink). Cacao was considered a sacred medicine and was used in shamanic ceremonies by the Mayans and Aztecs from Mexico to Guatemala to connect with their gods.

According to both archaeologists and Mayan spiritual elders, the Cacao Spirit – mamãe cacao as I call her – was one of the most powerful deities in ancient Mayan cosmology.  There is an Indigenous myth that tells us that whenever the balance between humans and nature becomes threatened, cacao comes from the rain forest to open people’s hearts and return the planet to a state of harmony. Sacred Cacao was ignored in the ‘60’s resurgence of medicine-plants because it does not act like a psychedelic – it does not take you on its trip, but facilitates your own. Cacao is now considered as a super food and when taken ceremonially it can facilitate healing and connect you to your higher being.

What To Expect From A Cacao Ceremony
I hold the ceremonies in a traditional shamanic way – like my shamanic teacher Rebekah learnt from her teachers in the peruvian Amazon.

We start the ceremony by creating an intention and then drink the cacao. Using shamanic journeying and with the help of mamãe cacao I will guide you into a meditative state where it will be possible to really turn inwards for guidance and healing.  Once we finished our journey we share our ‘nuggets of wisdom’ and close the ceremony with a prayer of gratitude.

A cacao ceremony creates an opportunity for you to sit with what’s happening in your life right now. You will be in a safe space to explore any areas of pain, heartache and limitations and work through it in a loving and caring way fueled by the cacao. This is a time out to reconnect to your intuition, inner guidance system and truly be who you ARE.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that cacao does not contain any psycho-active properties – you are in control of your body at all times!

And what exactly does it mean to turn inwards?

Cacao is a very gentle, loving plant medicine that helps you cut out all the noise in and around the head so you can drop deep into your heart and feel your emotions. Mamãe cacao will lift you out of the ‘stories’ that you keep telling yourself and help you look at things from a bird’s eye view on:

  • Letting go of old emotional patterns that no longer serve you
  • Working through grief, anger or disappointment deeply buried in your subconscious
  • Connecting and experiencing the infinite wisdom you carry inside your heart and soul
  • Forgiving yourself and others

You will understand circumstances better and finally remove any blockages that hold you back getting re-aligned with your true essence and who you really are.

Got a burning question? Please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
